Re: Hey!! JV, we haven't had a good conversation for a long time. What's going on in that Hermit Kingdom of yours? Is it pretty cold in Denark now?

Is it pretty cold in Denark now?
Well, cold, and cold - temperatures are merely relative. Denmark is
actually warmer than the other Scandinavian countries (it's between 3 and 8
If I can remember correctly, the conversion equation to convert
celsius to fahrenheit is:
8/5C +32 = F
I really hate to keep correcting you but it's 9/5 * C + 32...
10 degrees C is the same as 50 degrees F.
I see you have consulted wikipedia on this one. I, too, look into
wikipedia, and decided wiki's table was an estimate. I remember very
well from school days the fraction was 8/5, not 9/5. Bill Moore, this
time you are incorrect. When it comes to mathematics, I know. As I
have said before, I am good at mathematics, remembering equations and
formulas
I did not consult Wikipedia. I remember mine from school as well. My
equation is correct. If you don't believe me - try this: 100 deg C =
212 deg F. Which equation works, yours or mine?
I took statistics as an undergraduate, and during my time working for
the government, I had requirement to use statistics, so I signed up
for a statistics class at UMBC. The methods had changed, but the
results were the same. Education methods changes every few years. Is
the late 1950s education too old for today's technology? Hummm!! I
was going through my bookracks not too long ago, and picked up one of
my old college textbooks on electronics. I can't believe I was
studying vaccuum tubes during my college days. Maybe the H1-B
engineers know better after all!
OK, but it's still 9/5, not 8/5 ;-)
For some reason, I'm pretty sure it was 8/5. It can't change that
much in 50 years.
.
I studied transistors in my college days but I don't use that stuff
much anymore. It still helps to have the background, though.
