SCC nutter rst0wxyz@xxxxxxxxx is paranoid about being watched, but

Chinese cyberdissident imprisoned

A Chinese court sentenced the editor of an online news site to six
years in prison for inciting subversion by publishing anti-government
essays.

Zhang Jianhong, known by the pen name of Li Hong, has appealed his
sentence by a court in Ningbo, in the province of Zhejiang, Variety
said. Zhang, a founder of literary Web site Aiqinghai.net, also
contributed to overseas sites such as Boxun and Epoch Times.

He was detained in September and his site shut down. He later was
charged with "incitement to subvert the state's authority" by calling
for political reform.

Zhang slandered the government and China's social system in more than
60 articles published on overseas Web sites, according to court
documents.

"This verdict is sadly yet another example of the judicial system
being used by the political authorities," the rights group Reporters
Without Borders said in a statement.

The Chinese government has been cracking down on anti-government
opinions appearing on the Internet, detaining dozens of bloggers for
posting their essays online, Variety said.
