You should meet that extremely annoying receptionist at my doc's (a
fellow countryman and friend from the old world.) When she heard I
was going to China she insisted on speaking to me in fractured
putonghua because I would need that when I am there. With her
scratchy nagging voice and patronizing comments I wanted to strangle
her.
