Confucianism (or more properly, social and political values that had
their origin in the gentry's Confucianism) will no longer offer a
source of social order?

Confucianism tied China to its past. The faster China destroys
Confucianism, the better off China be. Confucianism says the young
must be obedient. The old doesn't mean it's wise, it could be foolish
and had been foolishness. The young must strike out for new ideas, new
life-style, innovation and scientific means. Don't be tie-down to the
past.
