As far as usage in the English language is concerned, both "Hong Kongese" and "Hong Konger" are accepted, but not "Hong Kongian".
Now that "Beijing" has replaced "Peking" in almost everything, I find it very pedantic to say "Beijing Opera", or even "Beijing duck". How can anyone call a Pekinese breed of dogs "Beijingese"?
