Today is the day that John Rees, hero of the Texan War of Independence
led a contingent of miners in Newport against the British authorities
and in support of the Right to Vote. This guy is a hero in both
Britain and the UK. Where are the statues?

To be 'a hero in the UK' someone needs to be at least half famous in the
UK. I imagine that 99% or so of folk wouldn't have a clue who you are
talking about. I don't!
