Fatah Movement affirms Palestinian right to resist occupation
Sep 29, 2005, 10:16

Gaza - As the fifth anniversary of the Palestinian Aqsa intifada passes, the
PA's de facto ruling party, Fatah Movement, has emphasized on the
Palestinian right to live in peace and to defend themselves against
aggression and fight the occupation of their country.

In a statement it issued Wednesday, the Movement condemned the persisting
Israeli "savage" air strikes and artillery bombarding on civilian houses and
installations in the Gaza Strip, and the intensive arrest campaigns against
Palestinian activists and Muslim figures in the West Bank.

The Movement affirmed that it would remain faithful to the Palestinian
national constants.

It urged the international community not to remain silent while "watching
the massacres" perpetrated against Palestinian civilians, but instead to
intervene to bring all Israeli hostilities to a stop, and enable the
Palestinian people to freely practice their political and ordinary life.

The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) have been bombarding civilian houses and
infrastructure in the Gaza Strip for six days now. They also arrested more
than 450 Palestinian activists and figures, mostly Hamas and Islamic Jihad
members, in the West Bank.

Meanwhile, the Aqsa Martyrs Brigades (AMB), armed wing of Fatah, deprecated
the accelerated steps by some Arab and Muslim countries to normalize
relations with Israel while it was "slaughtering" Palestinians.

They also denounced the unjustified Arab and Muslim silence on the Israeli
bombarding of the Gaza Strip, affirming that such Arab and Muslim silence
would not demoralize the resistance factions in defending themselves and the
Palestinian people.

It called on all Palestinian factions to be extremely vigilant as the
Israeli "enemy" was waiting the best chance to carry out its threats against
the resistance figures.

"We must all be ready to respond qualitatively to any Israeli aggression and
send them a message that our blood is precious, stressing that no one has
the right to dictate on us when to resist or when to halt because facts on
the ground don't permit such dictations", it underlined.
