Why Singapore, Hong Kong, and Taiwan are rich enclaves of wealth
creation as England and the United States?
The answer lies more in the work ethics rather than just the gift of
natural resources and endowment of the human mind. Folks from England,
America, Singapore, Hong Kong and Taiwan are definitely hard working
and they tend to follow dictates of material well-being.
What differentiate folks from the Anglo-Saxon culture and believers in
Confucianism is politics. Democracy explains the divergence between
these 2 groups of wealth pursuers.
In Cambodia, which way are we going? Unlike Vietnam which is also
follower of Confucianism within the Asean communities, Cambodia is
seeking the path of democracy. So, it's really important that our way
of governance is based on democratic system of values. As such, we
would have less conflicts and work to resolve issues that may
originate from sheer ethical mindset. The less work we have to do, the
more effective is our approach to resolve development in Cambodia.
The analysis covers only aspect of wealth creation. It does not intend
to dig into spirituality or substance of other religious difference.
