The formula of Funcinpec + SRP was conceived in Camdisc in the spring
of 2002, about 1 year before the election of July 2003. The
constitutional deadlock dragged on. Then, the work group that was
created by representatives from CPP, Funcinpec and SRP resolved the
issues for the current coalition in Cambodia.

For reason of mystery, miracle and magic disappeared just as the
government was formed in 2004.

But now, the prospect of constitutional deadlock will not exist in
this upcoming election in July 2008. The new amendment would allow a
political party that is capable to get a 50% + 1 to form the
government in Cambodia.

This time around, the new Alliance of Democrats would be the merging
of all the opposition parties in Cambodia which want to be part of a
democratic and royalist front. There had been suggestion about the
combination of HRP, SRP and NRP. It would be much more practical and
more inclusive to add anyone in there, with Funcinpec included. As
such, the likelihood that a relatively more democratic and less
corrupt government would come into the creation in Cambodia.
Consequently, the new government would be more stable and conducive to
work out a more favorable climate for development, the injection of
national integrity and affirmative posture for international and
regional relationship of Cambodia.

Such a political climate would further speed up practical and
equitable development as much as it would positively weather and
welcome the perking up of most democratic institutions in Cambodia.
