As the election is getting near, Cambodian opposition parties need to learn a page from Funcinpec about collaboration

To avoid getting killed unnecessarily by loud mouth, strange attitude,
and slurred words, folks need to learn a more wholesome way to express
their point of views. They don't have time to get a degree in
communication, cultural anthropology or Khmer literature. They need to
improvise in order to gain the attention of their future supporters on
a moment notice. Questions, exchange and feedback are necessary in a
democracy. Therefore, candidates want to get elected and positioned
themselves for better or more aggressive point of views.
The winning formula is not necessarily someone who can shout louder
than the other candidate, dance better than the competition, or worse,
can kill anything that moves. That kind of raw power exists only in
communist countries or place that practices dictatorship.
The lesson of Funcinpec offers a humble instruction that needs to be
reflected upon from time to time as folks move out into the trenches
and do the work of political maneuvering. We're not going into the
details of the wisdom. Suffice it to say that collaboration is the
keyword of the 21st century in working out together to solve problems
of the communities. This is true whether one is preaching the sermon,
researching scientific blueprints, designing marketing techniques or
moving a nation forward onto the path of evolution.
Collaboration requires knowledge of the discipline, integrity and, of
course, experience. Notice that integrity shows up every place that we
deal in most human situation or relationship. So, if we work on that
component of the equation, then we can get closer to the truth much
further than the opponent.
