Philippine company buys SPi Technologies

A Philippine company has paid $158.8 million to buy SPi Technologies, a
business process outsourcing company based in New York.
Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co., working through its ePLDT
subsidiary, envisions a combined entity with 11,000 workers delivering
knowledge-based voice and non-voice solutions, SPi said Friday.
Merrill Lynch advised SPi; Credit Suisse advised ePLDT.
