Prince Ranariddh is Unhappy PM Hun Sen Rejects Ministry of Immigration

FUNCINPEC President Norodom Ranariddh said he is unhappy that Prime
Minister Hun Sen refused to create the immigration ministry.

However the FUNCINPEC leader said the disagreement does not affect the
cooperation between the royalist party and the Cambodian People's Party
(CPP) in the coalition government.

Speaking to reporters in front of the National Assembly building
Tuesday, Prince Ranariddh said he disagreed with the report of Ministry
of the Interior to Hun Sen. The report said the creation of the
Ministry of Immigration would benefit FUNCINPEC politically.

The FUNCINPEC president said what he suggested was not something new.
In fact, he said, it was in the agreement between the two parties.

In November the FUNCINPEC leader wrote a letter to PM Hun Sen asking
him to create the Immigration Ministry by January of next year.

Hun Sen rejected the request saying that the new ministry would divide
the resources to fight terrorism and increase the spending budget.
