The new US ambassador to Cambodia Joseph Mussomeli said the Khmer Rouge
tribunal should be set up soon but it should meet international
standard.

After a brief visit to the Tuol Sleng Museum of Genocide on Friday,
Ambassador Mussomeli said it's time to bring the Khmer Rouge leaders to
justice because "injustice delayed is justice denied."

In answering reporters' question whether the US will help fund the
tribunal, Ambassador Mussomeli said it "will depend on whether the
Khmer Rouge tribunal will meet international standard or not." He said
as soon as "the US is sure that international standard of justice is
met, the American people will be there." Ambassador Mussomeli on
Thursday presented his credentials to Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni.

Ambassador Joseph Mussomeli's most recent post was Charge D'Affairs at
the US embassy in the Philippines.
