it was a truth that NLD won 1988 election.
but it is a 17 years old result.
we should see present situation in yangon.
people in yangon still respect to daw suu and u tin oo as HUMAN BEINGS
but people in yangon do NOT resoect to them as POLITICAL LEADERS
we have to recognize this TRUTH.

The world Burmese community, 88 generation students, 50 former head of
states, exile Burmese groups, the UN, the NLD are all calling upon the
brutal junta to unconditionally release the NLD General Secretary Aung San
Suu Kyi and NLD Vice Chairman U Tin Oo from house arrest when it expires on

The NLD won the May 1990 Election. The military could not come to terms with
that reality and deliberately pursued the NLD opposition membership
including their leaders Aung San Suu Kyi and U Tin Oo. The junta went about
finding fault with the opposition and using the law which was formulated to
protect and advance themselves, starting jailing the NLD members and making
sure they die in prison under very long term jail sentences or chased out of
the country under threat of persecution and/or death sentence. The junta
tried to kill Suu Kyi and U Tin Oo at Depyayin and upon failing massacred
and butchered hundreds of their follower who were going about their business
peacefully. Not satisfied with this disgraceful act the power hungry junta
arrested Suu Kyi and Tin Oo and locked them up without trial in violation of
human rights and against common and international law. This junta then tells
the people that they are trying to democratize the country whilst they
themselves are behaving like dictators and allowing their soldiers to rape
and murder. Aung San Suu Kyi have been under arrest 11 out of 17 years in
Burma and the world community are demanding that she and U Tin Oo be
released on the 27 May when her term expires
