The image of a sitting Buddha, all of 180 feet in height sculpted by
Win Sein Taw Ya Mon monk near Lat- thet village, Mudon Township, will
be unveiled day after tomorrow.

Win Sein Taw Ra Mon monk, alias Agga Maha Saddhamma Jotikadhaja Ajar
Kay Sar Ra is the creator of the world's largest reclining Buddha
image in Burma (Myanmar). The image is located about 29 kilometres
from Moulmein (Mawlamyine) Mon State and was installed in 1992.

The Mon monk liked to be seen wearing traditional Mon dress when he
started sculpting the new image. He advocates wearing Mon traditional
dress at the inaugural ceremony, his donor said.

The monk has also invited members of the local Village Peace and
Development Council to come to the unveiling ceremony attired in Mon
traditional dress.

Farmers will place paddy in the image to ward of low crop yield in the
future. They will be placing the paddy to increase production of crop
in their farms, according to Mudon Township resident.

Every one is entitled to put their belongings in the 180 feet Buddha
image. It could be money, ancient images, and destroyed images.

At the opening ceremony, the Buddha Image Building Committee will sell
Buddha images to local people and visitors and every body can join the
prayer.

Not only residents of Mon State but also some actors from Rangoon
(Yangon) will join the ceremony. Burmese military government officers
and Mon cease-fire group leaders from the New Mon State Party will
also attend the inaugural ceremony.

About 200 flower vases have arrived in the Khat-ya-khat-yuu Pagoda
inscribed in the Burmese Language which reads "Completing the Desired
Pagoda".
