Lynny,

I do not support the SPDC, but, I'd like to ask the question. Why have
the
Bamah people not rose against the military?
Sure, 1/2 of the Karen, 1/2 of the Shan some Karenni, Mon etc. are
fighting
for their own piece of Myanmar to control. These groups are not fighting
for
Myanmar independence, just their own autonomy. Yes, the '88 folks did
fight
for Myanmar independence, but folded with the first battle. D.A,S.S.K was
only accepted as their leader becuse she was not alligned to any
particular
group on the ground.......and because of her father.

Does the NLD have support within the country ? She certainly does from
those
who have fled Myanmar.

From my experience ....NLD does have respect, as does D.A.S.S.K..... but
little support.

Most Myanmar people I have spoken with think the NLD's time has gone.
DASSK
had an opportunity to negotiate, but refused to.
NLD/DASSK wanted all or nothing. The people appear to have not received
any
benefit from supporting the NLD.

All systems need an opposition to balance their power. Why has Myanmar
not
been able to provide an effective opposition ?

A effective oposition , not recognized by the SPDC, does not exist in
Myanmar. Why ?

People vs. Military:-:

In Myanmar there are people who thinks military is above everything.
Military is above the law, military is above the people, military is
above the nation. Military comes first or as a first class citizen of
Myanmar. Military was, is never wrong or always right. Military is the
government, Military wives/children are the riches, Military has all
the connections, Military has to right to dictate, military rules,
military has the right to sell, exploit the nation's resources.
Military has the right to destroy or to build. Military has to change
the flag or move the Capital City. The facts goes on never ending.

Think again...............................Is it true military is above
all? Some people
says history counts. Well let's go to the very history they claim so
much. History tells us the mighty militaries of humankind fails, dies
and vanished from the face of the earth. Soviet Union's military was
once very big and powerful. Germany's Hitler era military was very
strong. Roman Empire era Roman's military was very powerful. Genghis
Khan Mongols military was extremely powerful. These are just a few to
name of very powerful well established militaries
but..................where are
they now? Soviet Union's military is gone but the nation and the
people are still there. Roman's military is gone but Rome and her
people are still there. Hitler's military is gone but Germany and the
Germans are still there. Mongols' military is gone but Mongolia and
the mongolians are still there. Like wise it is endless to reveal.
What about Myanmar? The truth is Myanmar is no exceptional. Time will
tell the truth or reveal the truth.

So in conclusion, what is the truth of the matter?................The
truth of
the matter is the PEOPLE and the NATION/COUNTRY endures while the
strong and vicious rulers and their apparatus disappear. This is the
truth no one can deny nor argue. Like it or not PEOPLE and the COUNTRY
moves on as time consumes the ill will evils that once was very
powerful and well established. The endurance rested upon the PEOPLE
and the NATION. It is delusion to think "military" last for ever for
history has proven it is NOT, a pure deceptional delusion in deed!-

Chayco,
I think NLD and Daw Su still has full support from Burmese people
inside and outside.
Daw Su never refused to negotiate, she is asking for negotiation right
from the beginning.
SPDC is refusing to negotiate.
I thnik you are not Burmese because of your name. Please learn more if
you are interested in Burma politics.
thanks,

I am not Bamah, but I sometimes have business in Yangon and I am interested.

You think that the NLD and DASSK have full support from the Burmese people.
I certainly don't know for certain, but from my discussions in Myanmar, I
find that there is great respect for what the NLD & assoc. tried to do in
the past; but that their time is over. The criticism against the NLD and
DASSK is that they have refused to 'bend' to benefit the people. People know
the SPDC and understand that they need to 'control' It seems to be the
nature
of their organization. I would like to add that in my business with 'the
government' I find quite normal, polite and kindly, people who happen to
work for the
governent in power at the moment. Most of the SPDC 'employees' are simply
kind people forced into a situation that they feel uncomfortable with.

DASSK has had numerous opportunities to make make small changes for the
benefit of the Myanmar people, but chose to look forward to the 'big
picture' like a modern 'Ghandi'. Only time will tell if her policy is the
right one. Her encouragement of sanctions has hurt individual Myanmar people
greatly and done little to benefit them. Maybe, she will be proven right.

At the moment it does not look good for the NLD. There is the old cliche'
about ' being like bamboo'. No one is saying that DASSK and bamboo have
anything in common.

If you are Bamah.......maybe you should be in your own country or close to
it , if your concern is sincere.

I will not enter into an argument, but I will discuss this with you.
