Same old British bull***, everyone is stupid but them. They get more
laughable by the day.

The problem is, Portugal already has a problem allowing too many child
molestations and even some child sex rings with a few government officials.
What happens when some police chief has sex with a 13 yr old girl, is they
use it as bribery and extortion against that police chief for years to come.
And, whenever there is a serious investigation into some othe rpossible sex
ring, these officials may obstruct justice and shift the focus of an
investigation away from perhaps people he may be linked to (where those
people can then tell on that official for his previous child molestations).

They need to give lie detector tests to the Portugese policemen and
detectives involved. If the tests show any were involved in child sex in the
past, they have to get those men off the police force or else they will tend
to obstruct ANY investigation into ANY possible child sex ring (fearing they
themselves may be exposed about some other unrelated child sex they engaged
in).

See how that works? Britain has long known about that possibility, probably
more than any other nation because Britain has the experience from the old
British Empire when they encountered fierce bribery, corruption and
extortion problems in other countries. Policemen being bribed, or using
extortion on them, is rampant in many third world countries. When Britain
would arrive in a country to help govern a country, one of the hardest
things it found was stamping out the police corruption. Britain often did a
very good job forcing honesty and good behavior, but when Britain left these
nations, the corruption would quickly return.
