Fighting the colonization of consciousness is interesting. Because, it
ushers in the
new concept of consciousness without borders. Yet, recognizing, and
even protesting
the dilution of the special features of local consciousnesses. Those of
various cultural
groups. Sounds somewhat contradictory on the surface, but it is not.
Because, the
concept of consciousness without borders does not mean that you iron
out the special
local features. It means freedom to choose the pieces of consciousness
from the
smorgasbord. Yet, not losing your own, or not getting run over by a
dominant method.
Not letting anyone tell you, my consciousness is better than yours, so
you must think
like I do! Of course, it has a lot to do with mutual respect.
Respecting the differences.


Colonization of consciousness is essentially a detriment to jubilant
positive spirit.
It forces the followers into a set pattern of fearful roboticism. Into
a band of peephole
watchers and gossip-mongers, always looking for departures from
conformity that
must be ironed out. Often, it is caused by an undercurrent of racial or
cultural
hatred. The colonization is so pervasive that it also affects the
so-called intellectuals
in even famous universities or institutions of learning. That's where
the awarenes of
the detailed methods of colonization helps. Because, only by expecting
colonization
and knowing its methods you can avoid its negative influence on your
spirit.

In indian folk drama (the so-called jatras), as well as in some movies
there
is often a character called Vivek who would be singing in the
background expressing
what is going on in the minds of the characters, especially, the hero
or the heroine.
Just for the benefit of the audience. Colonizers of consciousness often
use the
Vivek method on the ones that refuse to be colonized! For example, they
can
plant a friend or a relative on you who is acting as a Vivek in a
situation dominated
by secret listening devices ("bugs"). The Vivek person will be seen
doing running
commentary on the goings on involving you. Basically, the deal is to
let the
"listeners" know what is going on in the consciousness process of the
person
who is sought to be colonized. So, you got to give yourself the Vivek
alerts,
when appropriate. Whenever you find someone doing unnecessary, and
sometimes
totally irrelevant, running commentaries on you, you may be looking at
a Vivek-like
character. You will start questioning as to why the friend or the
relative got into
the Vivek deal!

When getting colonized in consciousness is the norm, keeping an
independent
worldview can sometimes be hazardous! While you may be totally at peace
with
colonized varieties, you may be wrongly perceived to be fighting them.
Your expressions
and actions will often be misinterpreted to insinuate a negative
picture. While
many will not be able to talk to you face to face, there will be
cowardly indications
from behind a veil, so to speak. But, sometimes, the indications can be
hilariously
flattering also. For example, once I was compared to Kasparov playing
agianst
the big blue (the chess supercomputer)! Amazing! :)
