WE AND THE EXPANDING FINGERS OF
THE CRAZY COUNTRY


THE NASTY ADVERTISEMENT :
Few weeks ago, AKTEL, one of the renowned Mobile Phone Company working
in Bangladesh introduced one of the nastiest tele-advertisement and
started showing it on various cable channels. It was a small drama in
which a man was asked to go for "easy loading" and someone doubted in
his intelligence. By this time the director of the drama proved this
man as one of the dullest person through several of his actions. The
most noticeable thing was, the name of the dull person was "Yunus".
Never before we heard of using the name "Yunus" to denote a fool, even
though we have used names like 'Abul', 'Haripada' etc. to designate
fools. On the other hand the name, intelligent men or prophets with
this name are regarded to have been extremely intelligent in the
religions, Islam, Christianity and Judaism. So, common sense says that
the AKTEL authorities used this name intentionally to defame Prof.
Yunus, who is the owner of another larger Mobile Company "Grameen
Phone" and the only Bangladeshi to win the Nobel prize.

CREATION OF THE NASTIEST BY THE NASTIEST :
After they started showing this advertisement in various channels for
few weeks and the dullest section of our population started swallowing
the same by calling the less-intelligent type of men by the term
"Yunus" I felt extremely irritated. I have little hesitation to call
this one as the nastiest advertisement in the history of Bangladesh.
And definitely those behind its creation are worse than that. It is a
shame for any Bangladeshi to know that in this country there exist men
who do not hesitate to defame and insult the most honored Bangladeshi
person for the sake of their business or because of jealousy.

NEW FATHER OF FALU'S CHANNEL :
Few week's ago Falu's NTV broadcasted a peculiar program. We all know
about the Kansat incident in which the local people proved by
sacrificing their lives how much they hate extraction of coal in the
open earth process. The government was compelled to sign an agreement
with them they would not allow Asia Energy to rob the wealth the
wealth of this country. But then we know the Asia Energy is still
staying in the country with expectations. In the meantime a German
company came to Bangladesh to show how open- mining was not harmful
for the environment in their country. The experts in Bangladesh opined
that it happened so because of the difference in their soil-structure.
Then the German company invited to visit their country to see all
those at their cost, which was another form of bribing in broad day
light. Finally, the Falu channel broadcasted program in which they
showed that almost all of the persons who previously opined that this
system was harmful for the country were 'appropriate in our context'.
How did they show this impossible proposition ?

We are accustomed to hear the experts to comment on something in the
following way, "Well, it is quite possible to do this job in this way.
Even the cost will not be excessive. But the fact is, after this is
done, the earth would suffer from erosion after a decade and this is
extremely dangerous". When most of the experts expressed their minds
about open earth method in the above way, Falu TV used up part of
their dialogue and picture and broadcasted, ""Well, it is quite
possible to do this job in this way. Even the cost will not be
excessive" only. Just imagine the dishonesty in their broadcast. We
know, Falu the corrupt father of the channel is in jail. The time when
he was free to rob this country by the grace of Khaleda, he used to
feed his channel to its heart's content. Probably the Channel is now
depending on new fathers and probably Asian Energy is one of their new
fathers. The intelligent people of Bangladesh should keep vigilance on
their activities.

BIRTH OF CRAZE :
In our country has been imported from USA. The reasons behind the
birth of craze among the US citizens are known to all. Most of the
citizens of USA are immigrants. While some of them went there in quest
of fortune, some were in fact "hijacked". The men employed by the rich
farmers hijacked them from their motherlands in Africa, carried in
boats like animals and auctioned openly in the labor and prostitute
market. With such a historical background, however, they worked
extremely hard first due to the fear of whips, then, as per call of
their leaders who stressed on the principle of "creating wealth". They
opined that this was the key to ensure happiness for themselves and
their future generations. In the second stage, their leaders were
successful in earning billions by selling war weapons and ammunitions
by creating wars or war-like situations. At this period the struggle
against the nature and hard work in industries helped immensely in
developing their intelligence. But then, by and by the common people
started losing intelligence after they were blessed (?) with
affluence. At this time the manufacturers were successful in making
them crazy for earning money and spending the same in purchasing their
products and services. Their inoperative brains were kept occupied
with entertainments that helped in losing intelligence and acquiring
craze. In the final stage, their leaders have expanded their hands in
the outside world. In this expansion their numerous fingers radiate in
numerous directions. One finger wants to acquire or utilize the
natural wealth owned by the poor countries at reduced rate. Another
finger intends to invest money in the poor countries in such ways that
they might be able to enjoy the interests in future. Another finger
intends to manufacture products in the poor countries by using their
cheap labor, energy and raw materials.

In order to ensure the easy expansion of their fingers, they need
slave governments. While military government is their best choice,
dictators or democratic governments elected by their secret funding or
manipulation are their good choice. In this way they have enjoyed
Venezuela's oil, South Africa's gold and now comfortably enjoying the
wealth of Indonesia. They have been expanding those fingers in
Bangladesh through 1975-2006, when we have seen our governments to
lease out our valuable Garfield, Coalfield etc. to foreign companies
at negligible price

The people of Bangladesh have not yet turned crazy, even though they
are trying their best to achieve the same through their propaganda
medias. Following their policy the poor country that still depends
considerably on the earning of their sons in foreign country and the
country that cannot fulfill the basic needs of her population are
establishing "entertainment parks" and by that way allowing
considerable portion of their wealth to drain out of the country in
the form of cost of equipments and profit-transfer of the foreign
investors. When the city corporations cannot supply drinking water to
the inhabitants, they are found to spend huge sum in decorating the
roads and islands. Can intelligent men ever do it ? Are not the
persons who plan, program and spend in this way are either slaves of
the foreigners or crazy ?

LIBERATION WAR OF KANSAT :
The above incidents gave me the impression that probably the job of
befooling (Tupi parano) of the one time brave and intelligent
Bangladeshis is nearing completion. However, the heroic actions of the
people at Kansat made me to feel that still there are intelligent men
in this land. I have no hesitation to call the people's successful
struggle at Kansat as the "Liberation of our intelligence from the
grip of the conspirators". But then, when I witnessed a trifling Moble
Company (Aktel) to show such an advertisement day after day, with the
objective of defaming a Bangladeshi, who earned the rarest honor for
this country by winning the Nobel prize, I asked myself, where was the
sensitiveness, humbleness, intelligence and commonsense of the
Bangladeshis gone ?

We are aware of the words, cartoons and stories the US people use for
some of their leaders. We cannot blame them when they get leaders like
Clinton (with renowned "banana") as the topmost person of the country.
What better can one expect in a country dominated by the crazies ? We
may feel pity for them, but we must accuse the Bangladeshis, who
earned their liberation by smearing the conspiracy of USA and China.

BRIGHT LIGHT AT LAST :
No, the brave and intelligent Bangladeshis have not disappointed me.
As a great indication that the US propaganda could not wash the brains
of all of them, at long last there appeared a number of letters in the
newspapers, protesting against the mischievous act of Aktel. Some of
the writers spoke of litigation, some proposed for making another
similar advertisement by using the name of the owner of the Aktel.
However, things did not role to that extent and AKTEL, responsible for
the reckless, careless and foolish act surrendered by withdrawing the
advertisement. I do not know if they did it by realizing the mistake,
or for the fear of litigation.

LAST WORD :
There is every possibility that USA, the country dominated by the
crazy people would survive because of their over affluence and the
silent willingness of a number of countries to act so foolishly as to
surrender their wealth and honor to them. In this race probably
Indonesia would get the first position. It is encouraging to learn
that the South American countries have been able to know their
enemies. Similar is the case with Malaysia. When the government of
Khaleda Zia was near the brink of fall, the US policy of economic
aggression was in the state of rapid expansion. The present caretaker
government probably would not proceed much in this direction because
of unfavorable situation and their short duration. Definitely USA
would try for expansion after the new government is formed. The
frequent visits of US policymakers and officials in Bangladesh
indicate, they have big expectations.

Let the Bangladeshis wake up again and express what they did to the
combined US-China (and also Pakistan) force in 1971 and to Khaleda
government in Kansat.
