AUTHOR'S REJOINDER
INTRODUCTION :
Few days ago my article "WHY THE MOST... COULD NOT BE THE MOST ..."
was published in this website. Since then the following authors/
readers/writers have expressed their ideas on this article : Dr.
Biplob Paul, Joana K, Tushar Sarkar, Carolyn Steinhoff Smith. I
mentioned elsewhere that whenever an issue (or problem) raises concern
among the people, in the west the government and the medias adopt a
special policy. They allow the people to talk over it. They 'know'
through such talks the people would dissipate their 'anger, hatred,
tension, agony, concern etc. (if any), feel satisfied and return to
their place of work with a smiling face and the satisfaction 'I have
done something'. Such endeavor however, fails to solve the basic
problem.
I am indebted to those who gave their valuable comments in this
subject. Through their writings we came to know about some of the US
families, attitudes of the US citizens towards others' culture,
religion etc. In their discussions the question of immorality of US
families came out as an important issue. However, the main objective
targeted in this article was the Immorality of the US government" and
not of the US citizens. Probably the above writers thought, the
immorality expressed by the US government could have been a reflection
of their people.
IMMORALITY OF FAMILIES :

to be an exotic dancer". Any person outside USA would shudder to know
it. If you raise the issue to an intelligent American, he might
suggest to drag the issue to the media, who might engage their anchor
to arrange talk-shows, there may be voting, presentation of
statistics, collection of similar information from other regions of
the world including showing of uncensored nude photos and films etc.
All these they would do for the sake of their 'business'. But we, with
our commonsense know, this is immoral and no vivid statistics can ever
convince us elseway. Probably there lies the great difference between
a man from USA and one from outside. If on the basis of statistics and
votes the US anchor declares, the majority of US citizens endorse this
'attitude', others would accept it. But none outside USA would agree
to accept.
MORALITY/IMMORALITY IN HINDU RELIGION :
In the Hindu religious book there is a story where "five brothers
married one lady named Draupadi". Since it is mentioned in the
religious book we may consider it as endorsed by the religion. Did the
Hindus accept it in their society ? 'No'. At one time the Hindu Gurus
introduced a system of keeping the newly-married wife to the religious
Guru on the first night after marriage. The Hindus never endorsed the
idea and stopped it as soon as they got the scope. Why ? Because
normal human being can see 'what is good and what is bad' and it is
natural for them to 'accept what is good', unless however, they are
compelled or biased by others. (Statistics, examples, multi-media
presentations etc. by the anchor should be considered as means to
bias).
MORALITY/IMMORALITY IN MUSLIM RELIGION :
A careful study of the religious books may reveal cases like enjoying
maidservants, marrying foster-son's wife and so on. Since these are
written in the religious books and said to have been practiced by
celebrated persons and since it is impossible for the 'almighty god'
to follow double standard, one can easily consider such acts to have
been 'endorsed by the religion'. But the Muslims did not accept.
MORALITY/IMMORALITY IN CHRISTIAN RELIGION :
Even though there are lots of immoral activities in the OLD TESTAMENT,
the new testament is free from such 'nuisance'. The Christian marriage
system is excellent where the couples have been advised to remain
honest and the relation has been suggested to remain till death (in
one sect) . But nowadays, we discover Gay marriage, appointment of
'Gay Bishops' etc. in this religion. And note, it happened in USA and
not in any other Christian country. Even the Africans, who cannot
boast of their culture expressed hatred to these 'nuisances'.
MORALITY/IMMORALITY IN US FAMILIES :
In the above examples it is seen that "to be good is the natural
propensity of human being". We have seen the Hindus and Muslims did
not go for those immoral acts even though their religions endorsed
like that. So also did the Christians and deviations happened in one
country ony. The human being in USA do not belong to a different
species, they also retain the 'natural propensity to be good'. Now the
most important question is, WHAT FORCED THEM TO DEVIATE ?
LEARNING FROM "THE GRAPES OF WRATH" :
If you consider the 'contexts of development of culture and
civilization' in different countries, the case of USA is entirely
different from the rest of the world. When people arrived in a new
land in the fifteenth century, they were already civilized (even
though many of the immigrants were criminals, pirates, prisoners etc.
who accepted it as a scope for better living). Those who unwillingly
came from Africa in cargo ships had a lot to contribute in agriculture
and very little in culture. With the first generation of slave-life
they already forgot their past culture. Also their culture in Africa
was not developed. (This author has the experience of working in an
African country for over five years). The culture in USA started to
form in such an unnatural background.
John Steinbeck in his "THE GRAPES OF WRATH" has shown how the big
capitalists caused the death of thousands by creating crisis in one
part of the country, inviting the jobless people to another part for
work, then lowering the wage by taking advantage of more workers than
needed and so on. Those were the policies of the capitalists in the
twentieth century. Don't you think, they are more 'intelligent,
shrewd, aggressive and powerful' in the twenty-first because now they
have captured the latest technology and intelligent people from non-Us
countries as added instruments ?
ASK YOUR CONSCIENCE :
Let us select few questions relating to morality in families, like :
(a) Should pre-marital relation be allowed in the society ? (b) Should
post-marital relation be allowed ? (c) Should the married couple be
honest to themselves ?
One respondent has rightly commented, I stay far away from USA. That
is the reason I cannot understand how far the US citizens have been
carried away by the medias. Please invite any normal US gentleman or
lady and ask them to give replies to the above three questions from
their conscience. In case they have not already been carried away by
the medias, I am sure they would answer (a) No, (b) No and (c) Yes.
This is sure to be like this, because it is the natural propensity of
human being to be good. In such a situation the big question might be,
"WHAT IS THAT GREAT FORCE THAT COMPEL THE US-CITIZENS TO ACT AGAINST
NORMAL HUMAN INCLINATION ?"
WHAT IS THAT STRONG FORCE ?
In Steinbeck's "THE GRAPES OF WRATH" we have seen, the people's
greatest enemies were the capitalists. This time also they are the
enemy. During the period of 'Grapes of Wrath' the capitalists
published innumerable handbills. This time they do not have to do
that. They can handle and maneuver things more easily because 'they
own the medias'. One may ask, "WHAT IS THE INTEREST OF THE CAPITALISTS
IN TEMPERING WITH THE MORALITY OF THE FAMILIES USA OR ELSEWHERE ? "
In the novel I co-authored (JOURNEY TO THE EAST. Please forgive me for
mentioning the name of the book. I request none to buy it because I
hate advertising in this manner. I mention this book simply as my
identity, because I have nothing bright to identify myself) we
mentioned the following reasons :
(i) The capitalists can get cheap labor if families are broken. The
cost of maintenance of a single man is much less than that of a
family.
(ii) Open sex helps to keep the young generation un or less
concerned about the activities of the government.
(iii) In case the parents do not leave descendants as heirs the
government can confiscate the dead men's properties. In that way the
government can be rich and later, the capitalists can have the benefit
of it through 'shrewd' business.
There may be other reasons which the US citizens can find out if they
can move away their eyes from the objects focused by the blazing
lights from the medias.
CONCLUSION :
We started with the morality of the government and we ended up with
the morality of the families. And we have mentioned why the
capitalists indulge in such issue. If the US government is found to
endorse any government in the developing country, without any doubt
one can say, the government in question is a tyrant or 'anti-people'.
If a popular government suddenly falls down due to mysterious
activities, one can be sure the US government is behind the scene.
Most, if not all, of such activities go against the interest of the US
government and the country, not to say anything about their people.
However, all these go in the interest of their few capitalists. That
is the reason why the most powerful country of the world could not be
the most respected country as well. But still the US citizens cannot
ask their government, "why do you indulge in activities that bring bad
names for our country ?" They do not have the moral right to ask this
question. "WHY ?" Because they do not bear the cost of election of
their elected representative. Their elected representatives pay heed
to those who pay the cost. In there any wonder in it ?
