Anton,
Who reads Finnish, Swedish, English, Norwegian, Danish and a little bit of German (and even less Estonian), but no Russian, Ukrainian or any other Slavic language.
Has it been pronounced with consealed pride, eh?
Hardly. Swedish is my mother tongue. Norwegian, Swedish and Danish are almost dialects of the same language. Estonian, as most of us know is a Finno-Ugric language not so distant to my father tongue, Finnish. English is on the basic curriculum. German, which I studied form less than a year, is an optional language (along with French and Russian) in our schools.
However the point was: why post in a language most non-”ex-Soviet” people don't understand? S.c.b is a "big 8" group and the primary language for this Usenet hierarchy is the global Lingua Franca, English.
