I think his "menie" is that of "die-hard" sovok nostalgia, although he

The funny thing is that our new Dubliner Andrius is too young to have
even experienced the "sovok" let alone be nostalgic for it.
He lacks an identity so he's trying to create a fictional one.
:-))) Very uncool one so far. Sounds to me like over-nostalgic 75
year old former member of communist nomenklatura.
