He has merged the office of President and Prime Minister in his own
person calling himself "Tautas Vadonis" (Nation's leader). This gave
him unlimited powers.


President Ulman was seized by invading russian military bandits and
murdered in 1940.

After ocupation he ended up in Stavropol and died from ilness on the
way to Central Asia.


After June 1940, Latvia never regained her democracy until the
collapse of the russian soviet state.

Thanks to the will of Latvian people and Jelcin's courage to stand
against Soviet army in Moscow.
