All careers have to come to an end. Even such a brilliant one as that
of Valery Karlamov.
I thought his name was Kharlamov (beginning with the Cyrillic 'X'). He was
certainly a great player, and I saw him play several times in the 70's when
I used to go to the World Championships.
I remember it was a big name in Soviet hockey together with Mal'cev
and Jakushev.
Today I am officially changing my email to that of Ostap Bender, the
man I have admired from childhood, just like Valery.
Good. The role of a con man suits you better than that of a reckless driver.
Well, welcome back among the living, Ostap.
Definitely suits him better. Great combinator....great story!
But, Karlamov must be aware that it could take some time to addapt to
his new name.
Regards,
Ippolit
