I remember a similar talk re. Estonia. I guess some person had an idea
to change the name of Estonia to Estland in English. So far nothing
happened.
For Lithuania, IMHO most likely the same will be the case.
Nevertheless, this might be a good idea from a marketing perspective -
Russia's czar Peter I changed the name Rus' to Russia after the
example of Prussia - and I think one can say that the makeover was
successful, no?
So, having said that and just for fun - here is my suggestion - use a
modification to Slavic "Litva" and call it say "Littua" or even use
Yiddish "Lit(t)a"? Then I will transform from a Lith to a Litt to the
English speakers. I think I can live with that ;-)
