I didnt initially consider US Sec of State Rice's commentary about
"cold war discussions" to be in response to Adamkaus interview
comments. Adamkus, as President of Lithuania, is free to make whatever
comment he wishes to make regarding Lithuanias relationship with other
nations. He's free to characterize them as he sees fit.
This speech by President Adamkus strikes me as an effort to counter
C.Rice's position. I dont disagree with her at all - I think Adamkus
is absolutely correct.
Entering into points of argument with the dregs of Bush's foreign
policy misadventures serves no purpose. Rice is as relevant as
Gorbachev at this point. Theyre relics. Bush will never admit to
misunderstanding Putin and Rice will always have a friendly
perspective visavis Russia.

erratum..
I dont agree with her at all."
I love surrealism too. Adamkus, Cheney's bus boy was delivering another
neocon blah blah blah. The old and probably senile man is not a problem.
A problem is that the country he presents is already has such a
particular image in Europe that there is a talk to change the country's
name. Well, all pieces start to fall in place in the puzzle:
anti-Russian zoo shows, involvement of secret services in internal coup
d'etates, conspiring with another outlaw on the block - Sharikoshvili to
murder third country politician, etc, etc, etc.
Maybe it's time to change a president?
VM.
Tsk, tsk - so young and so bitter.
