I was comparing raging mobs in Russia to raging mobs in the Muslim
world. Just as Danes etc. should not alter their internal pollcies to
appease Muslims in Indonesia or Pakistan, so Estonians should not
appease mobs in Moscow
(and no, I do not mean to imply that the two
types of mobs are equal in barbarity).

Then maybe it makes sense to work on choice of words? Because when you
call a group of noisy teenagers "a raging mob" it deflates the meaning
of "a raging mob".

I didn't say, "murderous mob."

I did say and repeat now that some tens group of noisy teens is not "a
mob". Unless you are in a poetry business.

Riots in Paris were not in any way
related to any religious radicalism, these riots were rooted in social
exclusion of the youth from Paris' ghettos: what the French brew is what
they got. The same goes for Tallinn.

I was rather thinking about the attacks on the Estonian embassy and on
the Swedish diplomat, rather than events in Tallinn.

At private meetings
the ex SS may explain whatever version of history they like. As soon as
a State gets involved - everybody is free to have a say so loud that
every corner on the planet will hear. In that case the more money and
influence a particular State has, the more persuasive its version will be.

As I said - they still haven't figured out that a State should keep a
distance with such issues.

Only a weak people and State as the representative of weak people
would censor their own history out of consideration for foreign mobs.

If you mean Tallinn - there was not there, but the minority history
censored.

I would expect this of self-hating Western Europeans

Since when rich and narcissistic WEs became "self hating"? They are
often stupid, lazy, arrogant, corrupt, etc., but "self-hating"? Never.

Generally suicides have a measure of self-hatred. While narcisistic,
hedonistic WE _individuals_ probably do not hate themselves,
collectively Western Europe (as well as America's more European-like
liberal elite) demonstrates its self-hatred by the rejection of its
own traditional culture and its choice of demographic suicide.

You cannot freeze development: "rejection of its traditional culture"
repeats itself through the whole history of Europe. If not for this
"rejection" the Euros would still lived in caves or run monarchies.
Every stage of development brings in problems, sometimes society deals
with it successfully sometimes not. But it is definitely a gross to talk
about "suicide" or "self hatred".

I prefer Leontiev/Spengler's observation of Western "development." As
for self-hatred (for the culture, not individual , there are numerous
examples from among the modern West. But this quote from a highly
respected poet (Sontag)summarizes it perfectly:

"the truth is that Mozart, Pascal, Boolean algebra, Shakespeare,
parliamentary government, baroque churches, Newton, the emancipation
of women, Kant, Marx, Balanchine ballets, et al., don't redeem what
this particular civilization has wrought upon the world. The white
race is the cancer of human history."

More poetry. Don't you remeber that in school we were taught that
exaggeration and hyperbola are instruments of poetry?

As to Leontiev/Spengler then find out what conservative Christian
schoolers were saying in the times of Renaissance.

A comparison of the Swedish diplomats groveling before Muslim
representatives, apologizing for the work of Swedish cartoonists, with
the German Kaiser's words following the attack on Europeans by Chinese
mobs reveals the difference between a healthy confidant culture and a
sick dying one:

"...When you come upon the enemy, smite him. Pardon will not be given.
Prisoners will not be taken. Whoever falls into your hands is forfeit.
Once, a thousand years ago, the Huns under their King Attila made a
name for themselves, one still potent in legend and tradition. May
you in this way make the name German remembered in China for a
thousand years so that no Chinaman will ever again dare to even squint
at a German."

Today the Islamic culture is healthy, the European not.

Today Islamic culture at the stage of development equivalent to the pre
Renessanse Europe. Or in a lay man terms violent like hell. Besides it
has a common human problem - inferiority complex: ambitious Ego vs
pathetic state of affairs.

The
only places in the West not characterized by self-hatred are in
backwaters of provincial America uncontaminated by leftist influences,
and in eastern Europe innoculated from leftist influences by foreign
communist occupation which also acted to shield those countries from
materialiism for 40 years.

Yeah, sure, in police protocols it has a much shorter definition:: hate
crimes.

Russia is a different case of course.

To some extent, because there is no ethnically homogenous population
there.

but not of
Eastern Europeans. In this respect the Balts are like the Russians
with respect to their Soviet grandfathers, both are equally
essentially right despite being on opposite sides of history.

That is lyrics.

It is truth.
