Your enemy's enemy is your friend - simple. No need to wonder in
ideologies one or other side may push. Old men memorize battles
against force who had annihilated 10% of our population in just one
year. If you think they made their choice comparing Kapital and Main
Kampf you are just stupid.

Your attitude is exactly what I am talking about: the same people when
it is convinient are portrayed as heroes who subscribed to fighting
along Nazis to defend Motherland, but when it comes to Nazis' crimes
they dissapear as institualized group and few black sheep are singled
out instead.

What puzzles me that Baltics never asked themselves a simple question:
how come activities of ex SS - meetings, organizations, etc. in Germany
do not cause any outcry? If Baltics did then probably they could find
the answer - a State shouldn't get involved or being supportive at any
level. Baltics officials however are actively playing the game. Good
luck. I haven't seen anybody who failed in a quest of trouble.

Sorry, a lot of this seems like demogoguery. Mentioning Nazis and
Hitler in the context of the Baltic SS is like referring to Communism
and Stalin whenever Red Army troops are mentioning, in the hopes of
tainting those veterans as possible Stalinists by association.
Assuming the Balts were in a similar position as western Ukrainians,
many of the Baltic people probably saw the Germans as the lesser evil,
for logical reasons, and fought on the same side. Westerners are
simply too ignorant to understand something more complex than a basic
good vs. evil story, while Russians know better but have their own
agenda.

OK, I repeat it for the last time - I do not care what was their motivation, how complex was the situation, whom they saw as a lesser evil, etc. I do think that as soon as Baltics *officials* portray that "complexity" they cannot escape the bloody rampage against civilians in Belorussia and Russia will be brought in response. At private meetings the ex SS may explain whatever version of history they like. As soon as a State gets involved - everybody is free to have a say so loud that every corner on the planet will hear. In that case the more money and influence a particular State has, the more persuasive its version will be.

As I said - they still haven't figured out that a State should keep a distance with such issues.
