An article from The Economist by E.Lucas re. Ignalina Nuclear Power

I was going to praise the article, but praise should be reserved for
something extraordinary. As it is, this is a reasonable, logical
evaluation of an absurd situation. Well, what the hell, praise be
to Lucas for daring to be reasonable and logical!. When it comes
to Nuclear Power this is rarer then hens teeth. The proscribed
mind set is from wooly headed naivete to plain malevolent
stupidity. The description Lucas uses 'twitchy green tinged
bureaucrats' is a generous one.
Since this is The Economist, I think there is a quote attributed to
M.Keynes that goes something like this " the markets can stay
irrational longer than one can remain solvent". Similarly, the public/
media/bureaucrats might remain irrational longer than one has the time
to do the right thing. So, I agree - we need all the support we can
get - so thanks for reasonable and logical article. (Did it make to
the print edition of the Economist?)
