And now for something completely different!



Though I hate to disturb the focus upon extremely relevant and on-
topic matters like who was angelic in the Albanian purlieu of Greater
Serbia when the Serbs tried to spread peace and love, I feel compelled
to note that Latvia is about to get a different President and that
this process is actually getting intensely interesting.

Out of the blue a medical doctor, Valdis Zatlers, was brought forward
by the governing coalition (they'd had him stashed in a back room
somewhere). Last night Sandra Kalniete withdrew her candidacy, and
that means that this is now shaping up to be a battle between Endziņš
and Zatlers -- Endziņš, a well-known and respected figure, is being
nominated by Harmony Center (yes, that's right -- the horroristic
Russkies, according to Hui).

The hinges are and will be odd, too -- will Hui's beloved
Fatherlanders actually vote for something decent or keep selling
