India and Russia in nuclear deal
Russia will build four nuclear power reactors in India
under a draft deal signed by their two leaders in the
Indian capital, Delhi.
Trade between the two is currently worth $2bn a year
Russia is helping build two nuclear reactors in Tamil Nadu
and is offering four more
India is keen to source more oil and gas from Russia
Russia is keen to sell India its new MiG 35 fighter jet
Why should I care about reactors in India?
About the planes:
Some people just never learn.
This is not the first time that India
has bought russkie flying junk. They
had/have a bunch of Mig-29s (maybe
some other numbers). At any rate,
in the Indian air force they were
known fondly as "widow-makers"
as a result of frequent malfunctions
and crashes generally resulting in the
death of the pilot.
It is obvious that the Indian government
does not care. Cheap is cheap. As is
life in India. It is not, after all, as if
India is suffering from a lack of population.
I can't imagine why po' ol' Henry
should much care about an Indian decision
to further thin the ranks of their pilots.
