with an e, not an a, and it is for storage, but it is not a place...

But also has an another meaning of 'curse'.
You're thinking of ladet (laadeet), which actually means to lade - no
surprise, as the two words are from the same origin. To curse, you'd
generally say "nolaadeet". Valdi, for once, please try to get ALL the
letters of a Latvian word right?
