11. Costa de Marfil = Cote d'Ivoire, Elevandiluurannik

Elevandiluurannik..that kind of translation is a bit priceless.

(ok, back to lurk-mode.)

Well, but as there are not so many elefants in Estonia we have no
estonian word for "Ivoire". so "elevandiluu", elefant's bone, must
do:-). In practical language, anyone is using Elevandiluurannik, Cote
d'Ivoire is used just by TV dictors when reading official texts.

Please note that it's Norsunluurannikko in Finnish and Elfenbenskusten in
Swedish. Both 'norsunluu' and 'elfenben' mean 'elevandiluu'.

Same goes for German Elfenbeinsküste.

Actually I kind of like this kind of names -- they're plain, simple and
understandable. Much better than Myan Mar, Canada or Schweiz ;~)

For sure. At the end must we abandon "Rootsi" for some Sveamaa nobody
knows???

Hopefully not as Svea refers to only one of the Swedish lands. It would create the same havoc as in Finland with the problems using Viro or Eesti for Estonia.
