I don't know what you thought you meant when you wrote that, but the way
I read it, you're right. In five and a half decades out of my homeland
I have not assimilated away into English-only nothingness, and I never
will. I work with my native language daily (translator) and will
continue to do so until I draw my last breath. (By then ? and quite a
while before then, I hope ? I will be living in my homeland.)
