Re: Ya gotta wonder.

Oh dear Martin!

Have ya read some of the garbage that your
little cousin has been writing?

It seems that the mere presence of some kind of
a "diploma" should entitle one to some level of
an income. It used to be that anyone getting a "degree" or
whatever was guaranteed a job. Your little
cousin knows about that - even if I or you do
not. So now he tells us that they should still,
despite "capitalism", be assured a pay level
X-times above a "construction worker" -
presumaby - "just because".

Poor Henry, we see you can write but can you also read? Take my post
again - white collars with "degrees" got much LESS in SU then working
class. Where you find in my post idea one must get paid just for
"degree"? You may clean streets in any end of the world if "degree" is
only you have. But if you want to do some job with higher risk and
responsibility you must be prepared for such job - and it takes years
of studies. Here is example from your own country:

Mean Income ($/yr)
Education Both sexes Males Females
Not high school graduate 20,442 22,454 16,049
High School graduate 27,038 31,063 21,298
Some college, no degree 31,128 36,546 23,298
Associate's degree 33,425 37,628 28,510
Bachelor's degree 44,523 51,998 33,665
Master's degree 55,384 64,544 41,676
Doctorate 72,099 77,815 55,041
Professional Degree 98,197 111,654 59,793

You can look income data related to education for US at

http://home.znet.com/schester/facts/income.html

there are a lot of numbers, but don't worry, there are nice diagrams in
bright colour, too. Look how much you would probably make - if not
being so lazy in school.

Now tell me Martin - just how does it work
in the land of Oz? Does the fact that you
get a degree assure you an income 3x that
of a plumber, or electrician or a high-steel
worker? Even if that degree is in a discipline
that no one needs or wants? Yet this is
what your little cousin was whining about!

Poor idiot, take my post and show where I write something like this?
What I say is 100% correct at least for US as you see from statistics.
I'm sorry if I destroyed your self-esteem showing how much you lost
turning your backside to education in young years.

Or, Martin, is he right? Just because he
claims that he is writing from Eeestonia?

You may ask it from Martin, but there is easier way. Just google:
medium income/education/US (or Australia, or Lithuania. Don't try
Eeestonia, they write there Estonia mostly)

Heh - I should certainly hate to believe
that we are facing such a case of bias.

Bias are common amoung people speaking first and thinking latter - if
at all. It would cost two minutes for you to make clear for himself how
education and incomes are related in US before you typed your message.
But you saved that two minutes, come here unprepared and make himself
looking like idiot. But that's your constant problem anyway.

(just joking - or do they understand that
in the land of the Dodos?

Best - - Henry
