Wow, Putin forever!
Putin's channel 1 just signed deal with USA' Directv, and already
available nationwide on cable.
$14.95 on cable for 1 channel, $29.95 for 5 Russian channels, plus free
Russian "on demand"
2 pro-Putin channels
2 independent,
1 Putin-bashing channel (RTVi)
Although many here suggested that Russia doesn't have freedom of the
press but reality is somewhat different. And there is alot of
independent newspapers, such as Kommersant, Moscowtimes, etc, who are
critical of the govenment. Echo of Moscow radio station has 2 million
daily listeners.
I hope Gazprom will sell NTV, at least on paper, it can't be
independent.
