gps/satellite navigation for a car

I am due to travel to Australia in the near future.

I am flying into Sydney and then back out from Melbourne.

I have found a few car hire companies that have vehicles that include
satellite navigation. However, the cars are either very expensive top
of the range vehicles or reasonably priced and all booked up.

I have tried numerous car hire companies.

In the UK and Ireland, I have noticed that there are several companies
that can hire you a portable GPS / satellite navigation unit.

I can't find anyone that offers anything similar in Australia.

Can anyone help?
