What kinda Asian Americans are you guys if you haven't mentioned Lt.
Watada's case till now??? Whether you are against or in support of his
stand, how can any of you remain silent?
There doesn't seem to be that many asian americans posting on scaa.
If they have all disappeared, then who's left? Mentally ill japanese,
chinese and koreans posting nationalist crap that no one even in their
home country supports?
And some mentally ill non-asians also to round things out. ;-P
I didn't know (about) his case until your posting.
The Watada case is not so much an asian american issue but
a broader US military legal case as it questions the legality of
of deploying US troops in Iraq.
I don't agree with Watada's notion that the war is illegal, but his
courage is almost reminiscent of civil war days, true officer and
gentleman type.
I don't know any details about Watada's case - I've been
spread a bit thin these days so I haven't had any time to
do any research. IMHO the legality of the Iraqi War is not
in the scope of a military court system - IMHO since our
military is under civilian control the legalityof the Iraqi
War is the under the exclusive domain of the Federal
(civilian) Court system.
