Re: What's with all these foreign policy threads?

My, you have been away a while. The AF-WM threads still, to this day,
echo in these hallowed newsgroup halls. Most of them are lacking any
objective, intellectual analysis, preferring to slam any and all AF's
dating (or married to) white men. "Whitey" is often portrayed as
obese, desperate white trash, hungry for a stereotyped Asian woman (who
will only just take them for their money anyway, forgetting, for a
moment, that they're "po" white trash). And that's the relatively
cleaned-up summary of those posts.

"Serious" relationships between WM and AF (i.e. the WM is a
professional, holding down a job and perhaps not obese, or balding) are
often written off as just more evidence of the AF doing whatever it
takes to be accepted into a non Asian majority society. Oh, and she is
rebelling against an overbearing father who wanted her to be another
overachiever, or something like that.

Funny story. I remember years ago, working at a major financial
company in NYC, hearing some of the (white) women chatting amongst
themselves. Seems, they were talking about the overwhelming number of
traders who suddenly had gorgeous Asian girlfriends (to go along with
their YE bonus and the perfunctory Ferrari purchase). I wonder if that
trend, if true, ever subsided.
