Summary:
About half of Louisiana's Vietnamese American/Immigrants of
30,000 have been uprooted by Hurricane Katrina and have taken
refuge in Houston, Texas. Most are staying at church shelters
or with family or friends. The Vietnamese American work the
gulf for shrimp along the gulf so damages from Katrina
include ships as well as homes.
