Excelentísimo Presidente de los Estados Unidos de Norteamérica Sr.
Barack Obama,

Yo, ciudadana venezolana preocupada por la posición asumida por el
gobierno de un país cuyo liderazgo en la Comunidad Internacional
reviste vital importancia en cuanto a defensa de la libertad y verdadera
democracia se refiere, deseo expresarle lo que a mi juicio es un error
de apreciación por parte de ustedes ante la crisis de Honduras.
La Constitución Hondureña es clara y precisa en sus postulados con
respecto a la reelección indefinida, objetivo perseguido por el
ahora depuesto presidente Manuel Zelaya. Las autoridades de los
poderes Legislativo, Judicial, Procuraduría, Fiscalía, Tribunal
Supremo Electoral actuaron de acuerdo con lo establecido en su Carta
Magna fallando en contra de la propuesta del ex "presidente, quien
ignoró el respeto debido a los otros poderes, característica
esencial de la democracia. En consecuencia las Fuerzas Armadas
Hondureñas cumplieron con el mandato constitucional dado en este caso
por el Congreso y la Corte Suprema de Justicia. Zelaya actuó en contra
de la soberanía Hondureña, al permitir y facilitar la intromisión
de los gobiernos de Cuba, Venezuela y Nicaragua en los asuntos internos
de su país. Además el pueblo hondureño expresó a través de sus
organizaciones su preocupación por la creciente asociación con el
narcotráfico que estaba transformando al país en un narco estado.
Considero que estas razones no han sido sopesadas por vuestro gobierno,
motivo por el cual han sido tomadas por su parte acciones que
favorecen a quienes tienen una posición antidemocrítica, que cuenta
como uno de sus principales objetivos la destrucción del pueblo
norteamericano. Algo que sinceramente espero nunca llegue a suceder ,
pues con su destrucción también moriría el mundo libre.

As Venezuelan citizen concerned about the position assumed by the
government of the United States of America, a country whose leadership
in the international community weighs vital importance regarding the
defense of Liberty and Democracy, I wish to express that in my judgment,
and with all due respect, you are committing an error of interpretation
in relation to the Honduran crisis.
The articles of the Honduran Constitution are clear and precise when it
refers to reelection, which is former President Manuel Zelaya?s
ultimate objective.
The authorities of the Honduran Legislative and Judicial powers, the
Attorney Generalâ??s office, the Public Prosecutorâ??s
office, and the Electoral Tribunal acted as established in their
countryâ??s Constitution, upon deciding against the proposal of
the former president, who disregarded the due respect to the other
powers, an essential characteristic of democracy. In consequence, the
Honduran Armed Forces complied with the constitutional mandate issued in
this case by the Congress and the Supreme Court of Justice. Mr. Zelaya
acted against the sovereignty of Honduras by allowing and facilitating
the intromission of the governments of Cuba, Venezuela and Nicaragua in
his countryâ??s internal affairs. Moreover, the Honduran people
expressed through their organizations, their concern about the growing
association with narcotrafficking, which was transforming the country
into a narco-state. I believe that the above mentioned reasons have not
been taken into consideration by your government, and therefore, you
have made decisions that favor those who have an antidemocratic
position, and whose primary objective is the destruction of the American
people. I sincerely hope this will never happen, because the fall
of your country would carry along the destruction of the free world.
