even more fire from those who criticise them for not doing enough for
job creation, and they'd also come under fire from the unions for
taking jobs away from union members and for taking advantage of the
unemployed when they could clearly have created a number of permanent
positions instead.
They will be doing jobs that people haven't filled like conservation work,
Road maintainance etc
They can progress to getting training with firms. those that show willing
and committment that is.
The important thing is that the scheme must have the clear direction and
message that they are committed to ensuring that the unemployed can
progress as far as their capabilities enable them.
What ever the faults of workfare it will be much better than allowing
ablebodied people to be doing nothing - A waste of human resources
.
