Project Black Jacket:

Is underway, full swing. The industry roll of premium felt came in
the mail, and I've been stitching up a uniform out of a over-sized
hoodie. The felt's all black, and totally non-reflective. It absorbs
all of the light, and twists the darkness around so it becomes
invisible. A friend on alt.magick, linked me up pictures of the
millitary camofluage uniforms. They look like they are made with
digital printers where the whole roll of fabric runs through the
printer. They are printed with super-small square pixels, in ways
that would be impossible to silk screen. The fractal patterns created
create a natural blur when you look at them, so they are more
effective. I'm using the same idea with Project Black Jacket. I cut
out small square patches and stitch them together in a fractal like
pattern. This creates a dimension of invisibility because the mind
can't find anything consistent to focus on, and it prevents the felt
from overfolding and catching bits of light. I like the looks of the
jacket and I've been working on it for a few days, but I'm not nearly
finished. I've decided against using lighter shades of grey because
the black is even more effective at night.
I saw a man walking around in a smilar uniform, and he was completely
invisible (Although there was a thick fog that night).
