====================================
THE CLAIMS:
Black inventions:

The atomic bomb - The idea for the implosion device was devised by a
black cook at Los Alamos. This man was friendly with the white
scientists and often talked physics and played chess with the white
men. They repaid his friendship by stealing his idea for controlled
implosion and claiming it as their own.

Gasoline - George Washington Carver first discovered the properties of
gasoline and devised their usefulness in internal combustion engines.

The Airplane - First devised by blacks in Africa who knew about the
airfoil 3000 years before the Wright brothers flight. Some people
speculate that blacks flying in gliders surveyed the building sites of
the pyramids.

The heart/lung machine - Devised by a black doctor because blacks
weren't allowed to have heart transplants.

More black inventions...

The submarine
The gold plating process
The machine gun
The saturn F1 rocket engine
The catalytic converter
The satellite
The afterburning turbojet
The silicon intergrated chip
The triod vacuum tube

Almost everything in our modern would thought of or developed by the
black man.

THE TRUTH:

Wow! That's quite a list; lets take them one at a time:

<Kenu wrote in message <36e0db6f.2019...@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>...

<I'm a high school student in a predominantly black school. My history
<teacher (a proud black man) has decided that one month is not enough
<to cover the millions of achievements accomplished by the black man,
<so he has extended Black History Month until the end of the school
<year. We discussed black inventors in class yesterday and I was
<appalled at the suppression of information perpetrated by the white
<system. Here is a short list of things that I always took for granted
<were invented by whites.

<Black inventions:

<The atomic bomb - The idea for the implosion device was devised by a
<black cook at Los Alamos. This man was friendly with the white
<scientists and often talked physics and played chess with the white
<men. They repaid his friendship by stealing his idea for controlled
<implosion and claiming it as their own.<

The atomic bomb was developed by a team headed by Robert J.
Oppenheimer, a
German immigrant.

<Gasoline - George Washington Carver first discovered the properties
of
<gasoline and devised their usefulness in internal combustion engines.

Gasoline was 'discovered' long before GWC's time, it was a byproduct
of the
distillation of kereosene, and had no use until the internal
combustion
gasoline engine was developed.

<The Airplane - First devised by blacks in Africa who knew about the
<airfoil 3000 years before the Wright brothers flight. Some people
<speculate that blacks flying in gliders surveyed the building sites
of
<the pyramids.

Two words: 'Wright Brothers'.

<The heart/lung machine - Devised by a black doctor because blacks
<weren't allowed to have heart transplants.

The heart-lung machine was developed by Dr. John Gibbon of the
Jefferson
Mrdical College in Philadelphia. My reference source does not state
his
race.

<More black inventions...

<The submarine

First one was constructed under the supervision of Cornelius Drebbel,
court
engineer to King James I of England.

<The gold plating process

Many ancient civilizations used 'gold leaf', gold beaten to incredible
thinness to 'plate' objects.

<The machine gun

The first examples were built in England in 1718. Modern design is
credited
to Richard Gatling.

<The saturn F1 rocket engine

Really, you're reaching on this one......the F1 rocket engine was just
a
scaled up version of every rocket engine built since the V-2.

<The catalytic converter

Not 'invented' by anyone, developed by teams from the various auto
makers.

<The satellite

Satellites were mentioned in literature as far back as Jules
Verne...if you
mean communications satellites, credit Aurthur C. Clarke.

<The afterburning turbojet

Team effort.

<The silicon intergrated chip

Ditto.

<The triod vacuum tube

Lee De Forest, an American, developed the triode in 1907. Pictures of
Mr.
De Forest
show him to be definitely un-African-American.

<Almost everything in our modern would thought of or developed by the

I really think you need to research this material before you post.
