You still have trouble separating fact from propaganda... Chile was a
prosperous democracy with a Socialist government. The country was not
being ruined - but sure, he was shifting wealth from the rich to the
poor, so wealthy Chileans didn't like him one bit.

Pre-9/11 (9/11/73 that is) Chile was held up as the model democracy in
Latin America. As ever, the CIA only likes democracies that uphold
"free market" policies (such as cutting welfare to the poor so the rich
pay less tax).

BTW - Cuba's only real problem is the regime of American sanctions. It
has the best healthcare, education and life expectancy in the
Caribbean. If you want to compare socialism in action to capitalism in
action, compare Cuba with Haiti.

"Many" meaning Chile's wealthy class. Just like wealthy Cubans hated
Castro from confiscating their (often ill-gotten) wealth and
redistributing it.

Is it? Can you cite? Pinochet reduced many Chileans to poverty and
increased the wealth of the few; he introduced Reaganomics pre-Reagan.

Ha ha - as the oil price rises, America will suffer tenfold what any
other country does. Look DA - do you believe in democracy or not? How
can you claim to support this principle, while justifying only
upholding democracy when you agree with the electorate? That's not
democracy!
