Welcome to sciencepoliticsreligion.com... a website that discusses matters
relevant to today's world by examining them through the lenses of logic and
rational thinking.
While it's obvious that the news media is biased from ideological,
commercial, and other perspectives, it's less obvious that they're often
completely blinded by a serious inability to think clearly and critically.
The media likes to concentrate on endless details, statistics, surveys, and
opinions from people who aren't qualified to render intelligent opinions on
the particular subjects they're covering. In so doing they often manage to
completely overlook the most important points in the stories.
Instead of focusing on the minutia, which can easily be bent and juggled by
those on the right, left, and in-between, we will instead "take a step back"
so that we can see what's really important about the events in the news.
Rather than being dry and humorless, sciencepoliticsreligion.com will
attempt to infuse the proceedings with a healthy dose of levity. Despite
that, we will base our perspectives on facts, logic, and common sense. If
you think that any of our facts are wrong or our logic illogical, we trust
you will let us know in a kindly fashion.
While some of what you read on this site might make you feel warm and cozy
because you share similar views, other things might make your skin crawl
with displeasure, or even elicit an occasional burst of rage.
Please don't take it personally. If everyone agreed on every single thing,
nobody would have anything to learn. And I'm quite certain that we will
learn as much from writing this site as we hope you will from reading it
.
