This is a game the right-wing-nuts are playing. First, they get everyone
riled up by floating the insane rumour that the victim was at fault. Then,
He WAS at fault... partially. Cheney and company were also at fault for not
making sure they knew where he was.
I know, that lacks the exciting frisson of the conspiracy theory that it was an
attempted "assassination"...
they trot Cheney out into the public eye to play the part of the virtuous
hero, who protects his friend by generously accepting the blame for what
happened. The aim is to have the inarguably gullible American public view
Cheney as the good guy, rather than an old fool who is no longer competent
to own a gun, let along run a country.
I'm thinking the closest you've ever come to a gun is a "Miami Vice" marathon on
TV-Land...
