DeDomestication of the Psyche

The soul revolt for freedom

The social consequences of domesticating institutionalizes that
alienates us socially, economicall, and culturally from government and
electoral resolution

The utility and vanity of possessions plus the privilege of comforts are
the rationales that facilitate the swap from freedom of the soul. The
argument could be made that freedom is found in the entity known as GOD,
alone. That argument ducks my assertion that the things we do
vocationally, even for the altruistic and good intentional benefits is a
thievery to our souls.

The institutional subordination we default ourselves for these
altruistic and good intentioned, at-best, ends provides a more insidious
degradation than the relief we seek to administer. The disciplines of
learning and the means of transference of knowledge facilitate this
presumption of interaction. The aggregation and distribution of
information and its services seem to require the structures to which we
have forsaken the autonomy, to which I've alluded.

I contend that the elimination of the vagaries of suffering for the
enhancement of human prowess has created not only the disruption of the
balance in our environment, but has perversely created a more inhumane
psyche. The striving for the "enhanced life", aka the "pursuit of
happiness" has opened the Pandora's box for the excesses of that ethos.
It is a perpetual open wound that dehysces no matter what treatment we
apply to it. The toleration of the unfortunate "marginal" events for the
general or potential benefits ignores the immorality placed on those
effected.

One could discount the immorality as a regrettable but unavoidable
phenomena of reductionist inevitability. This "washing our hands" of the
dirty details of life denies the truth of the system of life we lead.
The adverse and toxic consequences are becoming more frequent and
epidemic in their extent. Each day another anecdotal tale of
inhumanistic behavior is revealed.

These aberrations from the civic norms are a natural psychic reaction of
the estrangement of more souls to their seeming nullification of their
humanity for an unbalanced trade for material comfort and its
privileges. The good order and decorum of the increasingly
institutionalized cultural life has created pressures and tensions that
exhibit themselves in the pathologies that are becoming so much more
common.

The street people and the "underworld" culture are our canaries in the
mine shaft. Those of them who have found a preference in their
autonomous estrangement from the authorities and conventions of the
general populace have experienced the value of their visceral and
psychic vitality to the energy draining conditions of being
domesticatedly institutionalized. They se(ns)e the prison before ever
knowing the material gates.

In this time of economic and political dislocations and alienations, we
should be broader thinking than the tactics to get us out of the present
fix, and begin to think of existential strategies about the why for our
existence to each other and the organic environment that is moving to
its own resolution irrespective of any of our cultural, aesthetic
prejudices.
