af/wm interracial media hypocrisy in the U.S.

First of all, get your Asian numbers straight because you're the one
making up the facts. The total population in the U.S. is 5% yet Asians
as a whole are represented only 2.7% of the time in the media. The
majority of this representation is made up of Asian women. The media
portrays Asian males and Asian females divergently. Asian females are
hyper- Americanized and almost always paired up with white males while
Asian males are almost always hyper foreignized and stereotyped. This
is the truth.
http://www.azcentral.com/ent/tv/articles/0503asiantv.html
These are the stats:
white female/white pairings in the media -99% of the time.
black female/black male pairings in the media-99% of the time.
hispanic female/ hispanic male pairings in the media-99% of the time
Asian female/Asian male pairings in the media- 1% of the time
Asian female/white male pairings in the media 99% of the time
Some examples: There are at least 5-6 main local NY and national Asian
female anchors yet no Asian male anchors. Most of the time, they're
paired up with white males. These numbers don't even take into account
the disproportionate amount of Asian female anchors in cable news over
Asian males. Another example is Dancing With the Stars. This is a show
with two main Asian females; one a dancer and one a judge. There has
never been an Asian male on this show. These kinds of representations
are prevalent in the media from TV shows to movies to print and TV
ads. An example of these depictions in ads was an American express
commercial with a white guy bringing his parents to meet his Japanese
fiancé's parents. This ad was incessantly shown on TV during the
Christmas holiday and after. Conversely Asian male/white female
pairings make up 25% of all Asian interracial relationships but these
depictions are NEVER EVER shown.
You need to stop using population size and representation as a red
herring to this argument. It isn't about the amount of representation
of Asians in the media (although Asian representation for Asians are
low for their population size) as much as it is about how insultingly
racist and divisive the media chooses to depict Asian males and
females in general. Asian female/Asian male relationships represent
the majority of all Asian relationships in this country yet this is
rarely depicted in the media. Instead the media chooses to portray
Asian female and white male pairings 99% of the time. The media
chooses to hyper- Americanize Asian females depict them with white
males while continuing to stereotype and foreignize Asian males.
As for the amount of nonAsian representation in Asia, it's sad that
you would have to go as far as Asia to try to support your point.
Firstly, Asia isn't America. I don't know the number of nonAsians
living in Asian countries but I doubt that you'll get even a
percentage of a particular group of NonAsians living in Asia. Asia is
homogenous. It isn't America. Neither is South America, or Africa or
Europe. I'm sure their representation of their people over their
minorities is similar to Asian countries. You can't use this point as
the U.S. media doesn't continue to pair up black, hispanic or white
women with nonlike 99% of the time. The sadder thing is you can't name
a single group in the U.S. whether they're black, hispanic or white or
otherwise where one sex is paired up with the sex of another group 99%
of the time while committing to racistly stereotype and foriegnize the
opposite sex of the same race.
Also, I'd like to point out that when whites or other nonAsians are
depicted in the Asian media, they aren't racistly stereotyped like the
U.S. media does to Asians. If you don't believe me, watch any Jackie
Chan movie where there's a white guy cast in it. The white guys in
these movies are rarely portrayed as fat, hairy, bald guys. In fact
they're decently portrayed. The message might be otherwise but they're
not racistly demeaned as how the U.S. media chooses to depict Asian
males.
Your "Lost in Translation" quib further supports my point about how
the white media depict Asians. This movie was considered an insult to
a lot of Asians because of the way it stereotyped Asians in this movie
as a whole. This is the kind of example I mean when I say that the
U.S. media depict Asians negatively. By the way, this is a fictional
movie directed by a white person. It's not a documentary. It's such a
shame that you'd have to actually use an example of the media in
question to question my argument.
Lastly you should probably put it out there that interracial
acceptance by a white guy is usually code for we'll accept these
relationships when it's an af/wm relationship but we're not cool with
it when these relationships are between an wf/am. This is obvious by
the way that the media chooses to overwhelmingly depict af/wm
relationships but never ever depict am/wf relationships or rarely am/
af female relationships. Stop being a hypocrite and just admit the
truth because facts are hard to argue.
As for your last paragraph, tell me when the media has ever depicted
interracial relationships to this extent for such an extended period
of time?
white female/white pairings in the media -99% of the time.
black female/black male pairings in the media-99% of the time.
hispanic female/ hispanic male pairings in the media-99% of the time
Asian female/Asian male pairings in the media- 1% of the time
Asian female/white male pairings in the media 99% of the time
The answer is never. Stop denying that you are a hypocrite. Your Cum
ba Ya world where everybody's the same would be great if you guys
weren't such a bunch of hypocrites and racists when it comes to this
issue.

Read it again. In fact, keep on reading it until it sinks in.
Yeah, I'll read your *** once you actually listen to my ***.
You blame the media that's out to get you and you pull numbers
completely out of your ass about percentages. You're complete and
total bull*** and you know it. You're an insecure crybaby is what you
are. Hey maybe there aren't that many asian anchors in America because
you guys make up about 2% of the fucking population?!?!!! What don't
you understand about that?
And while you're at it. Tell me how many white people are anchors and
reporters for japanese, chinese, and korean media. Go look that ***
up and get amore worldy perspective before you come over here crying
like little btches.
And another thing did you ever see that movie lost in transation? You
remeber the scene where the white girl goes to a party in japan and
all the asian boys are fawining over her and completely ignore the
japanese girls there. You remember that? Yup, just remember that when
you complain about white guys having to "resort" to your supposed
leftovers. Yeah right.
It's human fucking nature to find interesting and exotic something you
didn't grow up with your whole life. So if you really can't stand the
competition from white guys over "your" girls. Then you better get the
hell back to asia because yup, there are a ton of asian girls over
here who are into white men black men and whatever.
I've dated asian and white girls. And I had a japanese friend in
college who dated white and asian girls. I did not give a *** about
who he dated. And he didn't give a *** who I dated. And he did not
cry all day long about how unfair life is for him in the states. He
did what he did without trying to find blame. If he could make a girl
want him that's all that mattered. He wasn't looking for an excuse for
everything in his life that is lacking.
You continually post crap about asian girls with white guys yet when
someone says something different you ridicule them. Yet when someone
points out that the media has always loved playing up racial tension
by pairing white women with black men and white men with black women
you completely dismiss it and brush it off as if it's not a big deal.
The problem is you're so god damn focused on you and your "asian"
lifestyle you completely ignore everything else and don't see how
every other group of people here have dealt with the same ***. It's a
part of life. You're not fucking unique. Except in how god damn much
you whine about it.
It's not about asian vs white. It's about growing the *** up and
being a man you idiots.
