I think we must reserve "arational", when describing belief, for those
who believe so implicitly that the question doesn't occur. Anent a
belief in the gods, I don't think there are many of those -- mostly the
very young. Few of us reach adulthood without even once questioning the
beliefs we are handed.
For those to whom the question does occur, and who choose to believe
upon evidence which would not convince them were they not already
inclined to belief, I think the proper term is "irrational".
